LCM-3

landing craft mechanized

Images about the allied landing craft from Italeri(on my home floor).

Model is reallly large (about 50cm in lenght).

You can find a good review of this model at: by Brett Green

added weldings and exhausts

Here is the LCM-3 just assembled with tape to understand what terrific work I had to do!!!

Here is the LCM-3 on the floor 50% ended. Note the Squadron signal for dimensions and the pyrograph (I found it very useful for "welding" parts together)

LCM-3 coming to life!!

  • Here is th LCM under the first shots of airbrush (note the paint spray vacuum in the background!!)

  • Note this Sherman from Academy (the same you can see here that I used to have an idea of dimensions of finished diorama)

  • At this time I decided to use the M4 Sherman "early" version from Tamiya (item n° 190)

Weldings made with a hot sharp tool (red arrows)

weldings added on turret (rear) and ammunition hatch

I added the number on the turret made from "sprue" numbers
